An unbelievable opportunity for any collector to own one of the holy grail 777's in a condition we haven't seen on a first edition for nearly 10 years in the business. The stunning, near mint conditioned 1987 777SK Shocking Pink Ibanez Jem won't be around for long and you wont find many 1987 models listed in this holy grail condition.
We are privileged to offer a guitar steeped in history. An absolute icon. There is so much to say about this guitar and what makes it iconic and one of the most sought after Jems in the world. This is a guitar for the collectors of the very best jems. If your viewing this you probably already know how rare an SK in this condition really is and if you are looking for one to add to your collection this is the ideal! Jems, and particularly SK Prices have been going through the roof in the last few years and there are no longer many examples for sale anymore. GUITAR CONDITION REPORT
When these came out in the 80’s the SK run was shorter than all of the other NEON guitars due to the notorious paint fade problems when exposed to sunlight. Some love it, some hate it, but either way it rarely matters when you start playing an SK! Direct sunlight fades these guitars which is why a good unfaded version is so rare. This guitar absolutely screams and is a homage to everything great about the old 777 jems. Purely ridiculous genius.
A word from the current owner
It's been in my possession for the last 10 years, and only been played once or twice during that time. Always been stored indoors in it's case.
Fit & Finish
Overall condition is very good. Very bright pink colour, no fading.
Guitar show some signs of having been played, but has no scratches. Even pick guard looks untouched.
There is a small crack in top coat/laquer near plug hole, about 4 x 4 mm (see picture).
Some additional highlights are the incredible condition of the hardware throughout and the neck plate being almost blemish and corrosion free.
Fret Board/ Fret Life
Fret board and frets are in very good shape, and has lots of life left.
Tremolo
A bit wear on tremolo top from hand resting over lower E, A and D string attachment blocks., No other scratches or blemishes apart from this.
Neck
Thin wizard neck is very fast thanks to it's thin D design and matte finish.
Electronics
Sound and electronics are all original and works 100%.
Bodywork/Paint
Original shocking pink with no fading. Incredible condition for a guitar this age and the lack of fading is something you rarely see.
Case
Guitar comes with modern Ibanez hard case.
Notes
Everything is 100% original. Currently the guitar is equipped with Ibanez strap lock nuts, but the original nuts are supplied with the guitar.
