This is an invitation only service and we independently vet each guitar/seller before agreeing to list a jem on our site to protect our customers. 15% COMMISSION - SALE + SHIPPING - A fixed 15% commission on the sale price. All of the above + logistics - Fully compatible with PayPal buyer/seller protection. Full damage insurance & tracking (upto £2500). We handle all the shipping and collection from your home to your buyer. All you have to do is wrap the guitar according to our Packaging Guide

Verification Process
​We pride ourselves on being the safest place to buy an Ibanez Jem and as part of this we require all sellers to be verified and have guitars inspected by us before listing through our consignment service. You will be required to provide ID, Proof of ownership and address before we accept a listing. It is a requirement that you must also not list your guitar anywhere else while we are working on the sale of your guitar

We are are upfront with buyers about the sale being of a consignment guitar and not a Sell My Jem store guitar and our role is on getting the maximum price for your guitar whilst making it as easy and safe for both sellers and buyers. We work on your behalf with our network of buyers and exposure to bring you substantially more than auction sites

Negotiations
We deal with customers enquiries, negotiating for your guitar, manage your web store listing and updating the store pages right up to the sale at which point the buyer is forwarded onto you for payment and you will be required to arrange the shipping (unless you have selected us to ship the guitar for you) after being paid by the buyer. You just send us some pictures and a guitar condition report and sit back, we take care of the rest. 

Consignment Seller Requirements
After verifying with us that you own the guitar and are accepting into our programme. You will be required to ship according to our shipping policies & Returns Policy to the customer and package the guitar. If you are shipping using your own courier you are also responsible for shipping according to PayPal Seller/Buyer protection policies to ensure both buyer and seller are protected.

STEP 1 INFORMATION

Take some pictures and fill out our guitar condition report form.  You will need to provide proof of ID/Address and ownership of your guitar before we will accept a consignment arrangement

Use our Guide For Taking Pictures within our form to help maximise the chances of getting what you want for your beautiful instrument.

  • Set Your Price you wish to achieve (we can advise an estimate)
  • Shipping rates are standadised across our website.
  • Set the length of sale: A minimum of 8 weeks is required to use our service and you must not list the guitar elsewhere whilst we are working on selling your guitar

STEP 2 WE SELL

If accepted, your guitar will be listed you can sit back and wait for us to do the hard work of selling it.

Your guitar will be mailed out to thousands of serious Jem collectors from around the world using our professional mail out designs.

  • Guitars will be sold WITHIN CITES 2017 (if required) border limits so no permits required 

STEP 3 DEPOSIT + PAYMENT

All offers are sent directly to you for consideration. Upon an agreed sale we take a 10% deposit or 15% depending on your service level from the customers for securing the guitar.

​This will act as our commision for the sale and will be held on account until the customer receives their guitar from you and the sale is considered complete

The buyer will be given your details + PayPal for the final payment of the sale and for dealing with any final details between You and your buyer. 

You will be required to ship according to our shipping policies & Returns Policy to the customer. You are also responsible for shipping according to PayPal Seller/Buyer protection policies to ensure both buyer and seller are proected

THE T'S AND C'S


  1. We will be investing significant  time into selling your guitar for the best price we can and in return we ask that you do not advertise your guitar eslwhere. Consignments are an exclusive agreement for us to sell your jem.
  2. If you advertise elsewhere during our sale term, your listing will be removed and access to our consignment service will be banned permanently 
  3. Minimum term length of sale is 8 weeks. Term length of our consignment sales can be increased past this or set to indefinite until we sell 
  4. If choosing the 10% commission service. You are responsible for the shipping in accordance with our Packaging instructions. We reccomend our couriers Transglobal Express for shipping but you are free to use a courier of your choice. 
  5. Should any issues arrise after we have past the buyer to you (Returns for example). Any disputes will be handled by PayPal. Our service is for finding your buyer and negotiating the sale. The responsibility of getting the guitar to your buyer in good condition will be yours and handled through PayPal, much like a normal sale.
  6. If choosing our 15% commission service we will take care of all shipping and handling. Guitar will be collected from you at a convenient time . We ensure all shipments meet PayPal criteria for Buyer and seller protection. Full tracking, proof of shipment and proof of delivery along with a standard damage insurance of £1000.
