1.I live in the USA. Do you buy Ibanez Jems from abroad?
Of course! The business is located in the UK so any offers will reflect the import costs and shipping costs associated with your location and your particular guitar. Payments will be made through PayPal in your currency and collection arranged at a convenient time with you.
2. What happens if I sell my guitar and its not as described?
This is a rare occurrence but it does happen. All offers are based on your description of the guitar and its very important to try and get your description correct and answer any follow up questions accurately. Your description acts as the foundation for the contact between sellmyjem.com and you through Paypal. We are both protected should anything be incorrect. If there has been a mistakeon your part  or if the guitar is not as described all resolutions will be carried out through Paypal, where a dispute would usually be issued by sellmyjem.com and a request for either the guitar to be returned to you at the your expense or alternatively a partial refund. Mistakes happen and Paypal acts as a secure and safe place to resolve any issues quickly and smoothly. 3. So whats the process for selling my guitar
Its as simple as selling a guitar can possibly get! After receiving a quote you can then choose to accept or decline. If you accept we will then ask for the following information from you
  • Paypal Email
  • Collection Adress & Contact telephone number (for courier)
  • Best day for picking up

We will then issue payment to your Paypal. You will be issued with shipping labels that you must print and stick onto your parcel and then just wrap the guitar. Sit back and wait for the delivery man to arrive to collect the guitar.

1. I want to buy an Ibanez Jem from here. What guarantees are there if the guitar arrives to me damaged?
Every guitar sold through the website comes with £1000 of insurance towards damage or transit should anything go wrong. We use Interparcel or Transglobal Express for all our international and local shipping. For more information please see the Interparcel FAQ or the Transglobal Express Shipping Insurance FAQ if you have any concerns regarding shipping and the cover they provide. We only use exceptional insurance services for these guitars
2. What experience do you have selling guitars
I have been trading, buying and playing Ibanez Jem guitars for nearly 15 years and have shipped to almost every western country at some time or another. My feedback on eBay and one of my favourite sites (Jemsite) has always been exemplary. I know what buyers are wary of, things like the importance of communication, providing tracking numbers, providing payments through PayPal so buyers are secure and I also know what people really care about when buying an Ibanez. Ensuring your kept in the loop at all times, that guitars are extremely well packed and fully insured. Thats why this site was created, to make a safe environment for people to buy the Ibanez Jems I'm selling and take a lot of the stress and worry out of buying these beautiful guitars.  
3. I've had bad experience in the past with poor packaging, can you explain how your guitars are packaged
Absolutely, and i know the feeling! These are premium and very expensive guitars with most usually exceptionally rare and collectable. the last thing you want is a cracked neck or damage in transit. All guitars are carefully packed in the following way, special requests, such as disassembly are also available if needed. Each guitar is cleaned down and string tension is slackened, but not completely taken off. The headstock is then carefully wrapped in small bubble wrap until it rests suspended in its case without placing pressure on the guitars neck. The Neck is then separately wrapped in a layer of bubble wrap and finally the body has a single sheet to line the guitar in its case. The entire case is then bubble wrapped at least 3 times with the final layer being brown paper. The result is a very strong package with the guitar almost completely suspended in bubble wrap with very little air able to reach the contents. This combination and care has never had any problems in transit, but should the worst happen, each guitar carries £1000 worth of insurance with Interparcel. Please see Interparcel FAQ regarding damage concerns and procedures.
4. Do you operate a returns policy?
Of course. Whilst i make every effort to ensure the guitar you receive is exactly what you hoped for these things can happen. The website was designed to make buying or selling an Ibanez jem as easy and as safe as possible and as such i offer on all purchases the possibility of refunds, if you are not completely happy with your purchase. You will be refunded the full amount less any postage costs/fees for returning the item. The rules for international and domestic buyers is the same and a detailed explanation can be found on the Ibanez Jem Returns Page 
4. What are the Import Taxes/Duty rates?
Guitar are shipped from the UK. This means that if your country is within the United Kingdom or within Europe there are no additional taxes to pay. Whatever the price of guitar is, will be all the costs involved. Guitars shipped further afield and across the pond will need to factor in the possibility of Duty and Rates being applied as these are the responsibility of the recipient. I will always value the guitar as low as i think is reasonable to keep costs to a minimum. USA rates range from 0% to 6% and is dependant, in some cases on your state. In all cases, you will be responsible for any of these taxes/duties so please bare them in mind when ordering.

This website was established in April 2015. Very new at the time of writing. I'm hoping to provide a great service for buyers looking to find a trusted seller and take the stress out of buying online and also provide a platform for people looking to sell their Ibanez Jem guitars to a trusted buyer.
