The recent boom in the jem market is of no surprise with enthusiasts collectors and now investors alike trying to get their hands on the rare ones, the golden era Jems of the early late 80s. Here is your chance to grab one while you can.
Still as extraordinary and whacky as ever. The NEON 777 guitars are highly sought after and progressively getting rarer and rarer. These guitars, with the disappearing Pyramid inlays are prized possessions of any guitar collector, screaming PAF pro pickups, Original Edge Pro Tremolo system with the patent inscription and the quality manufacturing that only Ibanez can produce from these golden years.

Beautiful 1988 Ibanez Jem 777DY Desert Yellow
GUITARS CONDITION REPORT
She has been a fantastic players guitar, but that has been cherished and only one owner from new. I bought the guitar in late summer 1988. I played it for several years then switched to bass. It sat in its case for a few years. I made another go at playing guitar in 2017 and had the frets dressed. But being a full time bass player I just couldn't fit in the hours needed for guitar. Guitar is a jealous mistress, she wants all of your time. All original where it matters and with only 2 tasteful modifications which are entirely reversible should the buyer wish to revert back to fully original.
Two modifications: I installed a ‘tremol-no’ so you can do unison bends without it going out of tune and is completely removable if required, and I put in a Dimarzio quick lock strap system.
Fit & Finish
The fret board and frets of this guitar are in excellent condition, with recently dressed frets and only some green oxidation around the frets on the fret board. Normal considering these are still the original frets and over 30 years old. Guitar still plays and functions beautifully and is a testament to these incredibly iconic instruments.
Fret Board/ Fret Life
No issue with frets, they were recently dressed. Fret board has some green oxidation surrounding frets.
Tremolo
The tremolo system is also in very good shape, as you can see from the photos.
Neck
Original neck, feels so good. Some natural discolouration in areas where more playing has taken place.
Electronics
The electronics have not been modified, and the guitar produces particularly rich, full-bodied sound when played in the rhythm setting.
Bodywork/Paint
We would describe this as a player conditions 777DY. A few dings and chips in paint and have been shown in the photos. Each one has been photographed up close so you can assess. Some have been stabilised in to prevent any further chips.
Case
Guitar came in standard (non Jem) case with pocket.
Additional photos can be provided upon request if you are unsure of the condition of any part
