I am always struck by just how beautiful the 90th Anniversary Ibanez Jem is. The 3d Textured paint is so eye catching and unique when paired with the blue almost turquoise colour that really glistens. Pair this up with a deep, rich ebony fretboard and the build quality of the very best and you have the making of an exceptionally special guitar.


This one is for the players, rather than collectors out there. It has been used and loved by its previous owner and looking for a new home. We have a full condition report in the listing below. Guitar Description
The JEM90HAM is a JEM series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1998. It was made in Japan by FujiGen as a signature model of American guitarist Steve Vai. It is a limited edition model made in honor of the 90th anniversary of Ibanez's parent company Hoshino Gakki.
The JEM90HAM features an American basswood body with a special textured finish bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret ebony fingerboard with special position markers at the twelfth and twenty-fourth frets. Components include DiMarzio Evolution pickups mounted in a mirrored pickguard with a pair of humbuckers flanking a single-coil, a Lo-Pro Edge double locking tremolo bridge and Gotoh tuning machines.
The JPM90HAM (John Petrucci), JS90HAM (Joe Satriani) and PGM90HAM (Paul Gilbert) signature models were released along with this one.
The production quantity is believed to be 759 units. It was offered only in 1998.

Condition: Fit and Finish
This is loved guitar and has signs of use. The guitar functions beautifully and is every bit the most exquisit playing experience around. You will notice a few chips along the outer edge of the body and headstock. Please take a look at the HD pictures on here to confirm the condition for yourself. I have marked out in close up anything that should be of note to a potential collector/buyer. One aspect of this guitar thats quiet unique is the mirrored pickguard thats SOLID metal. They can tarnish quite easily as this guitar has some small marks. These can be polished up to new if required.
Fret Life/Fretboard - This guitar has of course been used, However, there is plenty of life in those frets,. The fretboard is exquisite with a stunning dark ebony grain. I would reccomend a fret polish at its next service (Guitars bought at asking price will receive this for free as part of our setup) 
Tremolo - A good finish with little signs of use. The owner must have cleaned down the guitar after each play to keep the condition of this. There is a very little discolouration indicative of use. Only the faintest of pitting, very subtle. This tremolo is in fantastic condition. A HD picture has been taken close up. Largely what you would expect from a well cared for, near 30 year old guitar
Neck - Original Neck Straight  with an good feel and grain. No cracks or wood problems. No stress fractures behind the nut. 
Electronics - As you would expect in a golden era instrument the pickups are amazing. Sounds like a dream. There is a small amount of pickup noise when making half movements, inbetween pickup selections and it would be my reccomendation to give this pot a clean and/or replace next time its in for a service. A very minimal job. All pickup selections snap into place and function well!
Body work- The 3D textured paint is absolutely to die for and at most performing distances the marks are too small to see. However, as previously mentioned this was a well loved and therefore played guitar with a few marks on the outer edges. I have highlighted them in the pictures above and reflected in the asking price. 
Case - This guitar comes with a lovely hard case in good condition, the latches function flawlessly. Only a minimal signs of ware from storage and still include the key. Guitar does not come with a tremolo arm

SET UP

​This guitar will have a basic setup (New strings, bridge height adjustment, Clean, Polish) if bought at asking price. However, no major adjustments such as truss rod/neck changes due to the rarity of the guitar. We would recommend this be done after you receive the guitar so that you can personalise your setup.

​I take shipping guitars of this beauty very seriously and make sure it is bomb proof and all international shipping quotes come with £1000 worth of insurance for damage in transit, there is also an option not to take insurance but I strongly advise against! 

All shipping can be tracked by you and you will be issued a tracking number as soon as payment has been received and delivery arranged

Your guitar will go through the following process regardless of international or domestic shipping. I am happy to ship to anywhere in the world and have experience shipping to most international destinations.

All guitars are wrapped to the highest standard, inside the case the guitar will be bubble wrapped and any accessories individually packaged inside the case. Nothing loose will be left in the case. The guitar is then wrapped a total of 3 times in bubble before a strong brown paper incases the the whole guitar. I have been shipping guitars all over the world for 10 years with no problems reported.

​Yes they are offered! Most guitar sellers don't honour any returns at all but if you are not happy with your purchase then I'm happy to accept a return providing you conform to the returns policy of the website. If you are not happy with your guitar it can be sent back subject to return postage costs being covered by the buyer.
