New 2016 Ibanez JS 2450 MCP Muscle Car Purple

WOODS
The JS2450 is the second guitar in the Ibanez JS history to have an alder body, the first one was the JS2410. The body is to be slightly lighter than a JS2400 (that have a basswood body), Satch chose the alder because he considers that it’s a more neutral wood than the basswood, and fits better the sound of his new band, probably since the apparition of Mike Keneally and his keyboards parts, and later with Marco Minnemann & Bryan Beller who have a distinctive musical personnality.
The neck changed too, it’s now a 24 frets 3 piece neck with maple on the sides and bubinga in the center, Joe explained that choice by the presence this wood bring in, the 3 piece neck don’t have an influence on the sutain contrary to what people may think, and even brings more stability to the neck. This feature is a success.
ELECTRONICS
The JS2450 has 2 DiMarzio pickups, like always in the Prestige JS guitars, a Satch Strack for the neck that is a JS signature version of the Pro Track, and the Mo’ Joe, also a JS signature version of the FRED. As I explained in the video, the Satch track is single coil sized but it’s still a humbucker. When the JS guitars went form 22 to 24 frets, the scale length stayed the same (648mm/25.5″), they of course re-designed the body to have a better access to the 24th fret but for tonal reasons, Joe didn’t want to change the neck pickup location. This particular pickup location was a radical difference between the JS guitars and the 540R on which the very first JS1 was based, so they just reduced the size of the pickup to keep that tone.
I can say that the Satch Track is very comfortable and have a better definition than the Pro Track, more suitable to the JS spirit of the period. The JS2450 has a standard tuning but sounded nearly as deep, powerful and vintage that Joe’s guitars that are tuned one half-step down.
As usual in the Prestige series, the Tone pot and Volume pot have a coil-tap and an high-pass filter that can be activated by pulling the pots. When only one coil of the pickup is activated, the sound is of course more vintage but still powerful compared to classic strat sounds, this is an other soft-side of the pickups but the result is not a sign of any denaturing or deterioration.
ULTRALITE TREMOLO ARM
The Ultralite Tremolo Arm, it’s just f*king crazy! The bar is light, strong, the transpiration is not even a problem with that graphite carbon material. A regluar tremolo bar is included in the flycase, so you still have the choice for arming the original Edge tremolo.
GUITAR CONDITION REPORT
Condition: Fit and Finish
Virtually unplayed example and as you would expect from the very best Ibanez can produce. completely flawless fit and finish throughout. This guitar represent pure quality wrapped in a completely unique concept of sparkling purple glitter thats subtle but beautiful to look at
Fret Life/Fretboard - Untouched and full fret life available
Tremolo - No signs of playing
Neck - Original Neck, Straight as an arrow as it was when it left the factory. Beautiful.
Electronics - Unbelievable sound that you truly have to experience. Unique character
Body work- Exceptional Condition body work, no chips or dents/drops. Complete factory finish! Some light pick scratches under the strings (a handful only) and a few tiny blemishes in the lacquer so small and minuscule we were unable, under any angle of light to show them in pictures but worth mentioning here.
Case - This guitar comes with the original case that is extremely beautiful and luxurious inside. The plush red velvet interior really makes this guitar pop when you open the case for that very special first opening. Again in completely Mint condition

"I had been searching the internet for a decent used Jem for a while but was reluctant to purchase such an expensive guitar without seeing and playing it. The same with getting stuff off ebay without playing/seeing it….risky business!
I then came across sellmyjem.com and found a gorgeous V70 in sea foam green. The site is great…..loads of info and some of the best photos of used guitars I’ve ever seen…….proper Jem pornography!
The photos and write up for the V70 were fabulous and it was obvious that this seller loves his Jems!
Although I had been looking for a 7VWH I was really taken with the colour of this model. I checked out the specs on the Ibanez site and was a little worried to discover this model is made in Indonesia and not Japan so I contacted Rex from sellmyjem.com and we discussed the guitar at length……his knowledge of the Jem models was superb and being a great guitarist himself he understands how they feel and play. He assured me that the V70 was a cracking guitar and the quality from Indonesia was great……especially at the price.
I ordered it on a Wednesday evening and it was delivered Friday with Rex given me updates throughout its journey!
I can tell you now …… this V70 model is awesome. The pickups are smoking hot and the Edge trem is bloody insane! I don’t care that this thing was made in Indonesia it looks and plays amazing! It is also one of the most beautiful guitars I’ve ever seen…..the sea foam green with the tree of life inlay has to be seen in the flesh to be fully appreciated.
The description given on sellmyjem.com was also spot on……it said immaculate and that is exactly what it was. You couldn’t tell it wasn’t new.
I’m still looking for a 7VWH and won’t be getting it anywhere else but sellmyjem.com!
