- SOLD 2002 IBANEZ JEM 7DBK + NEW HARD-CASE + Original Manual
SOLD 2002 IBANEZ JEM 7DBK + NEW HARD-CASE + Original Manual
THIS GUITAR HAS NOW SOLD!
We have for you an exceptional condition original 2002 7DBK. A jem that was extremely unique with its 3 dimensional textured paint similar to the 90th HAM Anniversary guitar launched the year before in 1998. These guitars were the bruisers of the jem world with many being heavily used and played. This example however, is in exceptionally rare condition. See the full guitar condition report below for details. These are increasingly more difficult to find good condition and here is your chance to grab one at an exceptional price!
More info about theJEM 7DBK -
The JEM7D is a JEM series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1999. It is a signature model of American guitarist Steve Vai. It replaced the JEM7 BSB as a new affordable but still Japanese made JEM. It was made by FujiGen.
Visually, the JEM7D borrows both from the JEM10th as well as from the JEM90HAM. It has the black finish and mirror pickguard of the JEM10TH, a look which would also be used for the JEM77V and JEM7EAFX. The JEM7D combines it with the structured body finish of the JEM90HAM and the screw head dot inlays of the JEM7 BSB.
The JEM7D is the first JEM with the DiMarzio Breed pickups. It also features a thinner neck compared to other JEM guitars. It initially had the Lo-Pro Edge tremolo which was replaced by the Edge Pro in 2003.
The JEM7D was discontinued after 2004.
Stunning Condition 2002 Ibanez Jem 7DBK Electric Guitar
Guitar Condition Report
The guitars condition is absolutely incredible for the year of manufacture and one of the best examples of a 7DBK we have seen. Very minimal signs of use with a couple of small touch ups on the body that have been highlighted via photo. Please take a look at the HD pictures on here to confirm the condition for yourself. I have marked out in close up anything that should be of note to a potential collector/buyer.
Fret Life/Fretboard - This guitar has had very light use, plenty of life in those frets,. The fretboard is exquisite with a stunning maple neck and a beautiful rosewood fingerboard
Tremolo - A good finish with little signs of use. The owner must have cleaned down the guitar after each play to keep the condition of this. There is a very little discolouration indicative of use. Only the faintest of pitting, very subtle. This tremolo is in fantastic condition. A HD picture has been taken close up. Largely what you would expect from a well cared for, near 20+ year old guitar
Neck - Original Neck Straight with an good feel and grain. No cracks or wood problems. There are no pocket marks on this guitar. A very common mark on these guitars but not present on this model and no stress fractures behind the nut.
Electronics - As you would expect, there are no known issues with electronics. Sounds like a dream, pickup selector snaps into place and these pick ups absolutely scream!
Body work- This is where the guitar really shines, quite literally. The body work is in exceptional condition and looks stunning. We have inspected every inch of this guitar to find only a few small pits in the paint around the outer edges. There are some light playing marks on the guitars pickguard, its quite remarkable for its age!
Case - This guitar comes with a lovely hard case in good condition, the latches function flawlessly. Only a minimal signs of ware from storage. Guitar does not come with tremolo arm but does include the original manual.
SetUp:
This guitar will have a basic setup (New strings, bridge height adjustment, Clean, Polish) if bought at asking price. However, no major adjustments such as truss rod/neck changes due to the rarity of the guitar. We would recommend this be done after you receive the guitar so that you can personalise your setup.

The guitar is then wrapped a total of 3 times in bubble before a strong brown paper incases the the whole guitar.
